Watercolour by William Mein Smith, 1799-1869, shows exploring party in the Wairarapa, possibly in the 1840s.

The watercolour was identified by A G Bagnall, as being of the Waiohine Gorge, with Mounts Isabelle and Holdsworth in the background.
